Rising Leaders Institute

About the Program

A Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of Greater Omaha (ynpnGO) program featuring Nonprofit Association of the Midlands (NAM) sponsored content, the Rising Leaders Institute (RLI) is a one-year, cohort-based program that gives early-career nonprofit professionals the opportunity to learn the skills necessary to achieve a nonprofit leadership position through mentoring and facilitated discussion with subject matter experts.

Expectations of RLI participants:
 
  • Attend all six regular sessions:
    o February 21, 2023
    o April 18, 2023
    o June 20, 2023
    o Aug 15, 2023
    o October 17, 2023
    o December 12, 2023
  • Pay $150 tuition. Scholarships are available.

  • NAM staff, subject matter experts and leaders in the nonprofit sector facilitate programming.
  • Sessions focus on Leading Yourself and Leading With Others. Topics include:
    o Emotional intelligence and self-awareness in the workplace
    o Leadership though an equity, inclusion & justice lens
    o Self-advocacy and owning your own professional development
  • Participants will have opportunities to learn through small group discussion and exercises, and are encouraged to practice techniques in their workplace.
  • Develop deep relationships and a network of among class members.
  • All class members receive recognition at the annual NAM Summit.
